Outdoor Team Building

Objective

Participants will experience fun in the outdoors while engaging in team building activities. This day is designed to foster deeper understanding of self and others while building a team community.

Explanation

By now, many businesses have recognized that the old vision of businesses succeeding through the accomplishments of individuals is inadequate for today's world. Increased competition, especially in the service sector, requires people to work together to achieve at higher levels. This often means that employees who would formerly have been expected to work alone with clear individual expectations now must work as part of a team with larger, group goals.

Unfortunately, simply assigning people to work together does not create well-functioning teams. Many people have never been taught how to work as part of group, with individual responsibilities working towards group goals. With proper training, however, people can learn how to work effectively and with satisfaction as part of a group.

Team-building activities have become an important part of businesses and organizations that truly wish to create functional, effective groups. While these activities can take place anywhere, outdoor team-building programs provide a wide variety of fun and involving options. This program provides a series of activities designed to teach by doing. Small teams compete in a variety of challenges both physical and mental. In completing the various activities, each team member will have a chance to showcase their individual skills and abilities, while each group will also be able to showcase their accomplishments.
